Description
Experience the life of the early people of Wisconsin as history comes to life at the 1848 Jonathan Clark House Museum on the corner of Bonniwell and Cedarburg Roads in Mequon. The event will feature farm animals, outdoor games, hands-on chores of early families and interactive museum tours. Costumed JCH Young Historians and adult tour guides will provide leadership for the activities. Interactive chores include rope making, butter churning, clothes washing and herb gathering. A special feature will be Lindenwood 4-H Club youth demonstrating how they raise their farm animals. Young visitors are encouraged to try on the museum's bonnets and aprons or straw hats and suspenders or come in their own costume. Dairy refreshments will be served compliments of the Ozaukee County Dairy Promotion Committee and the Lindenwood 4-H Club. Join in the fun from 12:00 noon until 3:00 PM. No registration is required. On-site parking is available. This is a fee-free family event with donations gladly accepted. Generous sponsors of this event are Mequon Thiensville Optimist Club, Thiensville Mequon Lions Club, Mequon Thiensville Sunrise Rotary, the Lindenwood 4-H Club and the JCH Board of Directors. The Jonathan Clark House Museum is a City of Mequon Landmark and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
