  • Many events held throughout the year in Mequon and Thiensville are excellent opportunities for the whole community to come together to celebrate holidays, commemorate history and cultures, enjoy music and performances.

    Visitors can enjoy one of the many festivities that are offered throughout the year. The annual Winter Frolic festival is held every February at the Mequon Nature Preserve. Participants will enjoy an array of outdoor activities such as sleigh rides, snow shoeing, ice fishing, chainsaw carvings and bonfires.

    Pommern Tag, an outdoor German festival, takes place on the last weekend of June in Mequon City Park and features ethnic food, displays, entertainment and cultural events.

    The annual “Family Fun Before the Fourth” event, a day of fun for the whole family, is held at Thiensville Village Park. It takes place on the Saturday before the Fourth of July. This event begins in the morning with a parade followed by entertainment and ends with the traditional fireworks display. It is a highlight of everyone’s summer.

    On the second weekend of July, Gathering on the Green holds its premier two-day outdoor performing arts festival at the scenic Rotary Park. The concert not only features the best of Milwaukee’s fine arts but also has brought in some of the biggest national touring acts. Saturday evening ends with an outstanding fireworks display choreographed to a live orchestra performance.

    In September, visitors and community members alike can enjoy Taste of Mequon, a concert and festival that highlights area restaurants and art vendor

    Holiday festivities can be enjoyed in December at Winter Wonderland of Mequon and the annual Tree Lighting event in Thiensville. Both celebrations feature music, tree-lightings, Santa and more.

    A bustling Farmer’s Market, also located in Village Park, is held every Tuesday from May to October. The market features an array of merchants and products, luncheon vendors, music, contests and more. Due to its popularity and close proximity to the river the market it is known as the best “dam” market
