Annual community tradition features local business trick-or-treating, Trunk or Treat, hayrides, food trucks, family activities and a call for volunteers
THIENSVILLE, Wis. — October 5, 2026 - Get your costumes ready! Nightmare on Elm Street, presented by Schramka Funeral Homes, returns to Thiensville on Thursday, October 29, 2026, bringing an evening of Halloween excitement, family-friendly activities and community spirit to the Village.
Hosted by Downtown Thiensville, the annual Halloween celebration invites families to trick-or-treat throughout the local business district before heading to Thiensville Village Park for an evening packed with festive fun. From free candy and creative costumes to food trucks and a live DJ, the event offers something for Halloween enthusiasts of all ages.
Business trick-or-treating takes place from 4 to 6 p.m. throughout the Thiensville business district, followed by Party in the Park from 4 to 7 p.m. at Thiensville Village Park.
This year's festivities will feature food trucks, our signature beer garden featuring hot apple cider and mulled wine, Trunk or Treat, a Pumpkin Hunt, Costume Caudron which features a free raffle, and a live DJ. Families can enjoy an evening of Halloween activities while connecting with neighbors, supporting the community and celebrating the season.
Costumes are encouraged for everyone, making this a perfect opportunity for children and families to show off their Halloween creativity while enjoying one of Thiensville's favorite annual traditions.
“Nightmare on Elm Street is one of our favorite traditions to bring the Thiensville community together for an evening of Halloween fun,” said Traci Cain, Executive Director of Downtown Thiensville. “From trick-or-treating at local businesses to the activities and excitement in the park, this event is all about creating memorable experiences for families while celebrating the incredible community spirit that makes Thiensville so special. We encourage anyone who wants to get involved to join us in making this year’s celebration a success.”
Volunteers Needed to Make Halloween Magic Happen
Behind every successful community event is a team of dedicated volunteers, and Nightmare on Elm Street is looking for community members to help make this year's celebration a success.
Volunteers play an essential role in creating a fun and welcoming experience for families and visitors. Individuals, students, families and groups of friends are encouraged to get involved, lend a hand and be part of one of Thiensville's most anticipated community celebrations.
