Bonniwell family historian George Bonniwell and his wife Char recently traveled from Plymouth, Minnesota to attend the Friends of Jonathan Clark House Heritage Days celebration. George brought along copies of his book, The Boniwells, 1,000 Years in which he relates the story of the family coming to the Town of Mequon in 1839.  As a special surprise he donated a signed copy of his book to Homestead High School through Research and Digital Learning Specialist Suzy Zellmann.

Accepting the book on behalf of the students was freshman Kolby Zellmann and Junior Kate Zellmann. Both are JCH Young Historians who have volunteered at the JCH Museum for several years with Kate holding the title of “JCH Young Historian Ambassador”.

George’s book is available for review in the Weyenberg Library’s history room and the Mequon Thiensville Historical Society Research Center. In addition, signed copies of this intriguing book are for sale at the Jonathan Clark House Museum.

The Jonathan Clark House Museum is on the National Register of Historic Places and is a City of Mequon Landmark. It is at the corner of Cedarburg and Bonniwell Roads in Mequon.
