    About Us

Nestled along the picturesque western shores of Lake Michigan, just north of Milwaukee, the City of Mequon offers the ideal balance of natural beauty, small-town charm and convenience. The community of approximately 25,000 residents enjoys peaceful neighborhoods, a vibrant Town Center, scenic farmland and connectivity to downtown Milwaukee via Interstate 43. Known for its low crime rate, top-rated schools and outstanding quality of life, the City of Mequon organization is comprised of 110 full-time employees, along with part-time and seasonal staff, all working together to serve our growing community.

The Mequon Festivals Committee was created to plan events that will bring the community together. It launched the Taste of Mequon event in 2013 to spotlight community restaurants, artists and entertainers while bringing residents and business owners together to showcase all the elements that make Mequon a terrific place to call home. Taste of Mequon has grown every year and on average has 12,000-15,000 attendees. Event participants can enjoy scrumptious food prepared by local restaurants, listen to sounds of local entertainers, visit with friends and visit booths to appreciate the artwork crafted by local artists. There are also activities geared just for children. Taste of Mequon is a free event and is held annually on the second Saturday in September.
