A Day in the Life as a Business Relationship Officer
As a business relationship officer, you partner with businesses in our community to help them reach their goals. You spend time building relationships based on trust and respect. You work hard networking so that you are the first to come to mind when businesses in our community need financial services.
When businesses are ready, you collect information to perform a preliminary credit review and analysis concerning their needs. You originate and service a variety of commercial loans. You are conscientious about portfolio maintenance and loan administration in accordance with our federal, state, and NCUA policies. You deliver world-class service with energy and passion.
You maximize the profitability of Kohler Credit Union and propose strategies to mitigate risk. You conduct feasibility and market research. You work closely with the other department staff to ensure accurate and timely completion of loan write-ups for presentation to the loan committee.
You spend some time each day on the phone following up with prospects and members. You cross-sell other credit union products. You also conduct site visits to inspect collateral and inventory. You work with other team members to resolve troubled loans. You take pride in meeting loan production goals. You provide reports, statistics, and analysis to department and senior management as needed.
You never stop learning and keep up on general market and economic conditions related to business lending. You maintain an awareness of competitors' rates, fees, terms, and programs related to business lending. You represent Kohler Credit Union at various business, trade, civic, charity, and social organization events to support the community and network.
You are both a number cruncher and a people person. Your days are full of networking, selling, analyzing, strategizing, problem-solving, serving, goal-setting, and teaching. You feel great about helping businesses in our community thrive and love working at one of the top 100 "best jobs in America."
